Overview

Pivot Point Family Growth Centre is a leading multi-disciplinary support organization in British Columbia, providing autism services, behavioral intervention, mental-health support, family coaching, and community-integration programs.

Their operational platform, CareWebs, was originally built internally over 20 years ago and had become essential to coordinating services, staff, clients, billing, and reporting.

By 2017, CareWebs’ aging technology and instability were limiting Pivot Point’s ability to grow—both in BC and into new regions like Ontario.

Challenge

Pivot Point faced several critical barriers:

  • A single engineer dependency created major operational risk

  • A legacy PHP stack with inconsistent patterns made development slow and fragile.

  • Critical vulnerabilities had been exposed due to outdated technologies.

  • Frequent outages and deployment failures reduced trust and operational efficiency.

  • AWS infrastructure was costly and under-optimized, causing performance issues.

These challenges prevented Pivot Point from scaling and made provincial expansion impossible without first stabilizing CareWebs.

This has given Pivot Point a stable, scalable digital foundation for ongoing growth.
